Being passionate about Volleyball, my fiance and I started Rise with the intention of giving athletes an opportunity to learn while having fun. We are dedicated to helping players improve their skills, acquire a deeper knowledge of the game, and most importantly, encourage them to be the best version of themselves both on and off the court
Real Playing Experience
Between the two of us we have 23 years of playing experience with half of those at a varsity level or higher up to the college level. We have 6 years coaching experience at club and varsity high school level and 2 years of private coaching. We still compete together in various sand tournaments and are constantly learning how to improve our coaching strategies from the very best at a college level.
Attention To Detail
With the ability to have fewer athletes per court during lessons, we are able to slow down and go back to the basic mechanics of a skill and perfect the tiny issues that are affecting our best result. We have the ability to work on one specific skill for an hour rather than at a regular practice where they may see 10 different drills within 2 hours.
Positive Reinfocement
We emphasize the idea of building up our athletes to have a positive mindset on and off the court. For a lot of athletes going to a practice can be a form of therapy, a release, a change up from a stressful day. We want to provide an environment where we can push our athletes to be their physical best but also mentally their best as well. We encourage the girls to make mistakes so we can learn how to limit them.

OUR COACHING
Here are some of the areas that we will work on with our athletes. Day-to-day activities will vary based on the group and session.
SETTING
Footwork and how you finish at all levels is huge. By getting your feet to the ball you can take a bad pass and make it a hit-able ball. As players continue to get to a higher level how they finish their sets, it will make it really hard to defend.
SERVING
Perfecting the toss is a great beginning into how we can hone in on becoming a better server. Learn to nail your toss every time so you don’t swing too far behind the ball or in front but instead, right on the money time after time.
HITTING
Becoming a better hitter takes precision and timing. We teach how to get timing down through countless reps and seeing different angles taken from a setter. Players will learn when to release from a spot, when that time is appropriate and how to start on-time.
SERVE - RECEIVE
How games are won. Develop a strong foundation of beating the ball. This section is all about footwork and angles. We break down those two skills and eventually merge them together to create a rock solid platform.
DEFENSE
A great defense will beat a great offense any day. In a game of keeping the ball off the floor it matters how quickly and how accurately you can get a ball to a target. Defense creates offense, which in turn, wins games.
CONDITIONING
A huge way to improve your game is to get faster and stronger. The faster you are the more balls you get to. The stronger you become, the harder it becomes for others to defend you.

VOLLEYBALL COACHWhen I’m not in the gym I’m doing hair, that has been my job for the past 6 years and I am so grateful for it. Between hair and volleyball I don’t think I ever actually go to work, it’s the best life.
I have been helping out to coach kids since I was a freshman in highschool at my aunts camp or at CMH. I love the game and I love breaking down skills into the “why”. Working with the kids is the best thing ever, to help build confidence and knowledge is the best thing. Ryan and I often say we get to be the people we wish we had as kids growing up playing competitive sports trying to balance it all. We know first hand what we wish we had and what we loved that we got so it’s cool we can take that and apply it to help some people on and off the court.

VOLLEYBALL COACHI am a NASM certified personal trainer and working as a coach was a great fit for exactly what I enjoy doing. I currently am a crane operator during the day and rise is my way of going back to what I love and having fun. Coaching means more than telling an athlete a way to properly complete a movement, but rather it is helping an athlete understand a why to what they are doing. Finding your purpose in a movement can help retain the muscle memory and ensure that the body and each limb know its role during the activity.
I strive to make this movement fluid and comfortable as we continue to improve and get to new levels of skill development and overall athleticism.
